Privacy Policy

Last Updated: November 5, 2026

Voice Transcription - Deaf (also shown on your Home Screen as "Live Transcribe") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application. The app is made by Pravin Gawale ("we", "us").

Privacy-First Approach — Your Conversations Stay Yours

Voice Transcription - Deaf is built around a simple idea: your conversations belong to you. Every transcript you create, every saved session, and every setting is stored locally on your device and, if you choose, in your own personal iCloud account.

We do not operate user accounts, and we do not maintain a server-side database of your transcripts. You do not need to sign up, log in, or hand over an email address to use Voice Transcription - Deaf. Nobody at Voice Transcription - Deaf can browse, read, or retrieve the conversations you transcribe.

We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

Information We Process

Audio and Speech Input

Voice Transcription - Deaf uses your device's microphone only while a listening feature is active (Live Captions, Name Alert, or Sound Diary), and only after you have granted microphone permission through your device's system prompt.

Audio is not used by us to build a voice profile or to train any model. You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings. If you do, listening features stop working, but your saved transcripts remain on your device.

Recordings

When you save a session, Voice Transcription - Deaf can keep the audio recording with the transcript so you can play it back later. Recordings are stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your personal iCloud account. You can delete them at any time.

Face Data (Clarification)

Voice Transcription - Deaf does not intentionally collect, process, or store any facial recognition or biometric data. The app is designed exclusively for converting spoken audio into readable text from user-submitted speech input.

Voice Transcription - Deaf does not use your device's camera and does not request camera access. No facial recognition or biometric analysis is performed. We do not store or use face data for any purpose.

Transcripts, Speakers and AI Summaries

The text produced by Voice Transcription - Deaf — your live captions, speaker labels, and saved transcript history — is stored on your device. AI summaries are created on your device using Apple Intelligence, where available. Transcripts are yours to keep, share, or delete.

Settings

Voice Transcription - Deaf stores your settings, such as your language, text size, Name Alert words, and Sound Diary preferences, on your device so the app works the way you like.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or payment card details. Subscription payments are handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your payment information.

How We Use Your Information

To Provide Our Services

In Online mode, speech captured during a session is transmitted temporarily to our speech recognition provider for the sole purpose of converting it into text. Nothing you transcribe is used for advertising, profiling, or resale.

Usage Analytics

We use Mixpanel to understand how the app is used, so we can fix bugs and improve accessibility. This includes:

Analytics never include your audio, your transcripts, or the words you set in Name Alert.

Data Storage

All transcripts, recordings, session history, and settings are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, this data may also sync to your personal iCloud account, which is controlled by your Apple ID and governed by Apple's own privacy terms.

Voice Transcription - Deaf does not store your transcripts or recordings on our own servers.

Third-Party Services

These providers process data under their own privacy policies.

Notifications

Notifications, such as Name Alert, Sound Diary alerts, and reminders, are created on your device. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

Your Data Control

Complete Control

You can delete any transcript, any saved session, or your entire history at any time from within Voice Transcription - Deaf. Deleting the app from your device removes its locally stored data.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud is enabled, your Voice Transcription - Deaf data may sync across devices signed in to the same Apple ID. This sync happens within your own Apple account — we have no access to it. You can turn it off at any time in your device settings under your Apple ID, then iCloud.

Data Portability

Your transcripts are yours. You can copy, export, or share any transcript with friends, family, teachers, doctors, or coworkers through your device's standard sharing options at any time.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access or delete personal data, or to object to its use. To ask us to delete analytics data linked to your device, contact us. We will reply within 30 days.

Data Security

Because your Voice Transcription - Deaf data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account, its security depends on the security of that device and that account. We recommend enabling a device passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and two-factor authentication for your Apple ID.

Data sent to our speech recognition provider is sent over encrypted connections.

Children

Voice Transcription - Deaf is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Voice Transcription - Deaf or to our practices. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Voice Transcription - Deaf after an update means you accept the revised policy.
